Summative -After exhibition 3 - into the woods…

Similarly with exhibition 1, I really wanted to take my work onto the woods to photograph and experiment with ideas of the depiction of tropical birds and colour in the British woodlands. I really enjoyed producing this exhibition piece and the inclusion of the flowered brach pieces to the edges of the round. I was interested in seeing how these would integrate and align with other branches in the woods and the un-landscaped backdrops of the natural surrounds. The results are shown below

It was really good being able to view this work outside in the natural surrounds as well as trialing out the depiction of the laser cut wood rounds overlaid with other wood textures or up against fence panelling. Showing the piece with other pops of colour from nature, like the pink flowers shown also really enhanced the vividly of the birds colouring. I enjoyed how the stemmed branches from my round interacted with other branches and sprigs of growth from trees like in the 2nd and 8th pictures. After seeing this I have come to the decision that I will be having my final exhibition in the woods next to campus. I now understand the importance of the art piece although bringing tropical feelings to the cooler Britain, in the studio space, for it to truly have the effect I want it needs to be viewed in its rural surroundings.
